Vertly

Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

This policy describes the data Vertly actually stores, derived from the service’s own database schema rather than from a template. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.

Who we are

Vertly is operated by Media Miso Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202433140M), 32 Pekin Street, #05-01, Singapore 048762. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and why

We collect only what the service needs to work. There is no advertising profile built from your viewing, and we do not sell personal information.

DataWhy we hold it
Email addressTo create your account, sign you in, and contact you about your purchases.
Display name and country, if you provide themTo personalise the service and apply regional content rights.
Apple, Google or Facebook account identifier, if you sign in that wayTo recognise you on return. We receive an identifier and your email, not your password.
Coin and credit balances, and a record of every change to themSo your balance is correct, and so a purchase interrupted by a lost connection is never charged twice.
Which episodes you have unlockedSo you keep access to what you paid for.
Subscription status and renewal dateTo give you the access you are paying for and to stop when you cancel.
Where you stopped watching an episodeTo resume playback where you left off.
Viewing events: episode started, progressed, finishedTo understand which stories hold attention, so we commission and licence better ones.

We never see your card details. Payments are handled by Stripe, Apple or Google. We receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded and an identifier for the transaction, never the card number.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

  • Supabase stores your account and the records above.
  • Vercel hosts the website and keeps short-lived server logs, which include IP addresses.
  • Bunny.net delivers video. Your IP address reaches Bunny so it can send you the file.
  • Cloudflare provides DNS and network protection for our domains.
  • Stripe handles payments made on the web.
  • Apple and Google handle payments made inside our apps, and sign-in if you choose it.
  • Meta handles sign-in if you choose Continue with Facebook. We receive your name, email address and Facebook account identifier, nothing else.
  • Resend sends transactional email such as sign-in links and receipts.

Advertising

We advertise on Meta, Google and Apple. If you arrive from one of those ads, we report back that a sign-up or purchase occurred so we can tell which advertising works. The report goes from our server, not from a script on the page. It carries the click reference the platform put in the ad link, the time, the purchase amount, and, to Meta, a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your email address and account id along with your IP address and browser type, which is what Meta uses to match the report to its ad. It does not carry your viewing history, and we do not share what you watch with advertising platforms. Pages also load Meta, Google and TikTok advertising tags, described in the cookie policy. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland we ask first: no report is made and no tag loads unless you accept advertising cookies. Anywhere, you can say no under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, and a browser sending Global Privacy Control is treated as having said no. In our iPhone app, Apple tells us which Apple Search Ads campaign led to an install, without identifying you.

How long we keep it

Account and viewing data is kept while your account exists. Records of payments and of coin and credit movements are kept for seven years after the transaction, because tax and accounting law in Singapore requires it. These survive account deletion, in a form reduced to what the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email support@vertly.tv and we will respond within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your profile, balances, unlocks and viewing history. It does not refund unspent coins or credits, and it does not remove the payment records described above.

If you are in the UK or EEA, our legal basis is performance of our contract with you for the account and purchase data, and legitimate interest for understanding which stories hold attention. For advertising cookies and the reports that depend on them, it is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time under “Cookie settings”. If you are in Singapore, this policy is issued under the Personal Data Protection Act. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

Where your data is held

Our database and servers are located in the United States. If you use Vertly from elsewhere, your information is transferred there.

Children

Vertly is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will email you before it takes effect.
